‘What is Kirtan ?
In the way that yoga or any focussed physical activity can bring calmness to the mind, so too does kirtan through sound & music.
In a typical Kirtan session we sing rounds of melodic phrases to a musical accompaniment (usually a harmonium & a drum). Singing the phrases repetitively over a sustained period of time can settle our thoughts to such an extent that we can experience a quieter mind & a deeply relaxed state.’
If you want to find out more come & join Mikaela who offers space for all to come together & explore their voices as a key to diving into the depths of themselves.

Looking Deeply - Mandala Painting Day

Friday 28th February 2020

Venue: Denmark Farm Conservation Centre, Lampeter, SA48 8PD Wales

In this workshop we practice looking deeply, to cultivate a quality of attention that helps us appreciate the exquisite structures of flowers and positively affects how we relate to our plant relations.

The geometry of nature and symbolic language of shapes provide inspiration for creating mandalas. We'll be drawing geometry with compass and ruler and painting with watercolour, while taking time to relax with guided meditation.

Creating a mandala provides a satisfying way to work artistically that can bring a feeling of alignment and connection within yourself and with the world around you, whether your design is simple or complex.

Suitable for beginners.

Cost £40 including materials
