LOOKING DEEPLY - Mandala Painting Day

Friday 28th February 2020

Venue: Denmark Farm Conservation Centre, Lampeter, SA48 8PD Wales

In this workshop we'll practice looking deeply, to cultivate a quality of attention that helps us appreciate the exquisite geometric forms in nature and positively influence how we relate to the world around us.

Inspired by the geometry of nature and symbolic language of shapes, we then apply our observations and inspirations to mandala making; drawing geometry with compass and ruler and painting with watercolour, while taking time to relax with guided meditation.

Creating a mandala provides a satisfying way to work artistically that can bring a feeling of alignment and connection within yourself and with the flow of life, whether your design is simple or complex.
Suitable for beginners.

Workshop content:
* An introduction to mandala making, sacred geometry and geometry in nature
* Learn how to draw geometric patterns using compass, straight edge and pencil, adding colour with paint, pencil and pen.
* An opportunity to dream in, draw and paint a design specific to you.
* Time to relax and go deeper within, with guided meditation.

Inspired by the wild wisdom of nature, multi-cultural mandala art, ancient wisdom, the season, weather and times of our lives.

Suitable for all levels of ability. Materials provided.

Cost £40 including materials

Venue: Gregson House, Ynyslas, SY24 5JX

Meriel shares a subtle approach to movement and yoga associated with Vanda Scaravelli. This way of practicing cultivates presence and vitality by attending to the quality and refinement in the movement and breath one experiences. We are able to be dynamic if needed and address functional movements in our lives whilst still touching on quietness within.

Exploring movement with Yoga in this way deeply releases patterns of tension inviting comfort and a type of wholeness or ease of being. The multi-facted strengths attended to by this approach are radically different from stressful overextension and over-exertion. Postural curiosity returns to us an experience of grace and natural vibrancy.

Cost £10 This is a small group for up to 7 people.

Monday 9th March, 6.30pm to 8pm

Venue: Gregson House, Ynyslas, SY24 5JX
