Ayurveda is a 5000 year old truly holistic health system comprising diet, yoga, massage, detoxification, herbal remedies, meditation and daily lifestyle. It gives us amazing agency to choose wisely in our daily lives, to improve the well being of body, mind and spirit.

The Ayurvedic concept of Rutacharya, adapting our diet and lifestyle to the changing seasons, is one of the topics we'll be exploring in this workshop, along with how to detox, realign and take care of our bodies and minds at the seasonal junctions. I love the way Ayurveda teaches us to pay more attention to what's going on in the natural world; the way the rhythms of seasons, variations in weather and light affect us on all levels. That we're not machines which can be programmed to relentless carry on regardless of the changing nature of life - rather we ignore those natural rhythms at our peril. Noticing and adapting to the variations through the year not only helps us feel more alive, engaged and happy, but also guides us to make choices that are conducive to long term good health.

 We will cover:

  • The Doshas (constitutional types) in relation to the seasons

  • Practices to help restore and maintain balance

  • The ayurvedic concept of Agni and optimising digestive health

  • Detoxification

  • Food and herbs to cleanse and nourish
